I worked with the best department ever! Whereby I got the opportunity to get my hands dirty with various kind of projects.
They give you to lead the project even though you just an intern and you must take full ownership over your task. The perk of doing an internship in startup company is that you have the opportunity to involve in projects that require creativeness in order to execute the project itself.
Most of my projects I did from scratch. But no need to worry, the colleagues, no matter from which department are willingly to help you out!
As usual, the interviewer asked about how much I know about Flexiroam. Before the interview, I did some research about it like who is the CEO of Flexiroam, what are the core values of the company. The more you show your interest to them, the more willingness they want to hire you!
Besides, interviewer asked about the characteristics of a leader. I simply answered, a leader must have a great vision, dare to take risk and smart enough to lead a team.
These 7-8 months are such a wonderful journey and a life changing for me since I got to know many things that are happening in the industrial level where it beyond my expectations before my internship.
Such a great company. The best place not just to work, but enjoy and place to gain experiences and perform the skills that we have.
Highly recommended for those people out there to join Flexiroam especially to those who wants to show their abilities in handling projects.
You don’t have so many superiors that you need to report to or to get their approval. Most of them are a flat organization whereby as mentioned by our CEO that we can do what managers do and the VPs can do like making a coffee for our guests. There’s no so called “management” that’s controls you from the 90th floor.
And ofcoz it’s easier for you to get approval for your industrial training report (which is very important for you to pass your internship) where you get approval from your VP that sits beside you in the office.
Choose your company wisely. Indeed there are pros and cons between SMEs and MNCs. Just google it!
I should challenge myself to achieve more than I could ever imagine and rise up my level of knowledge by having talks with all the VPs (Vice President) from each department. So that I can see a bigger picture of industry level and how to compete in the competitive market since in this era most of the growing companies are from the technology sector. It would be great if I took this golden opportunity to rise my standard according to the current industry level.
I know some of you never experience internship before, my suggestion is go for a small company rather than big company. FLEXIROAM is the best example of small company that give you a lot of opportunities that other company may not offer to you. You will involve in real project that could be use in the industry itself. Easier for you to explore and feel the excitement of interns life. Just go for it and you will never regret.
As a result, I pass my internship with flying colors, with GPA of 4.00! It is not just that but I gained so many experiences and I am still hangout with my buddies from FLEXIROAM even though I finished my internship. Something that you can’t get from any other company, “interns come and go, but the friendship last forever”.
