Enjoyment Support & Guidance Environment & Location How Rewarding Was It? Average 4How many weeks was it for?36 weeksMonthly payRM 700What did you do?
My scope was to coordinate the Summer Academy program from the beginning. From the registration process up till the logistics of the program. It's a 2 week intercultural program which was held for the young professionals aged 18 to 35 from Asian and European countries. What did you learn?
Whether it’s how to write a concise email, answer a telephone, or shake a hand there is a professional way to do everything. Working in an office environment, even briefly, as an intern, I had the chance to observe how others operate and take on those attributes that I feel work best whether it’s communication, behavior, or office etiquette. I also learned how to deal with pressure and how to prioritize work in order to be more efficient. It was a great experience that I know will help me when I start my career. Was your supervisor supportive?
My mentor ensured I gained from the internship, actively involved me and made up for lack of structure with active improvisation. What could be improved? What could you have done better?
-Advice for future interns?
I would recommend this for those looking for experience in event management. Priority goes to AFS Malaysia volunteers. It is a good opportunity to test out the skills you developed in college and see how they work in the real world. By using your skills at your internship, you'll get an idea of your own strengths and skills that you’d like to develop.
